Coronavirus: 92 fresh cases reported in Sri Lanka

The Department of Government Information confirms that 92 more persons linked to the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster were tested positive for Covid-19 today (12).

 

Reports revealed that all of them are close contacts of earlier positive cases.

 

Thereby, the total number of Covid-19 infections registered by the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster reached 12,227 while Sri Lanka’s daily cases count hit 319.

 

With the new development, Sri Lanka has confirmed 15,719 novel coronavirus infections to date.

 

According to the Health Ministry’s data, 10,653 of the confirmed patients have made complete recoveries from the virus.

 

The Epidemiology Unit says 5,020 active cases are still receiving medical treatment at selected hospitals across the island.
