
Sri Lanka Police have arrested 20 individuals over the past 24 hours for violating the quarantine regulations, stated the Police Media Spokesperson.
They were taken into custody for not wearing face masks and not maintaining proper social distance, said Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
Since October 30, a total of 221 individuals have been apprehended by the police over quarantine law violations.
Meanwhile, a passenger bus operating in the Matugama area has also been taken into custody in violation of the quarantine regulations.
The bus had been taken into police custody based on information received from the passengers.
The driver and the conductor of the bus have also arrested by the police.
DIG Ajith Rohana further stated that stern legal action will be taken against the arrested bus driver and the conductor.
