A 10-hour water cut will be imposed in several areas tonight (17), stated the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB).
The water cut commencing at 9.00 pm tonight will continue until 7.00 am tomorrow (18).
The interruption to the water supply is due to emergency maintenance of the Pelenwatta water pumping station in Kottawa, NWSDB said.
Accordingly, Pelenwatta, Arawwala, Siddamulla, Pinhena Junction, Gorakapitiya Road, Moraketiya Road, and Nivattidiya areas will experience the aforementioned water cut.
Meanwhile, water supply to several areas including Wadduwa and Kalutara was suspended temporarily from 08.00 am today due to maintenance work.
The water cut will affect the Wadduwa, Waskaduwa, Pothupitiya, Kalutara North and South, Katukurunda, Nagoda, Bentota, Bombuwala, Pilaminawatta, Payagala, Maggona, Beruwala, Aluthgama, Dharga Town, Kaluwamodara, Moragalla areas, NWSDB said.
The water cut will be in effect for over 11 hours, until 7.30 pm today.
