Budget 2021: Rs 200 mn to develop Fisheries Farm Zones

Budget 2021 has allocated Rs 200 million for the development of Fisheries Farm Zones with infrastructure facilities in line with the environmental standards.

 

These developments have been suggested for Batticaloa, Jaffna, Puttlam, and Mannar Districts.

 

These districts have been identified as suitable for farming of fish such as prawns, lobster, carp, Tilapia, and Modha, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa mentioned during his delivery of the 2021 Budget speech.
