Court orders barring LTTE commemorations in Vavuniya and Mannar

Court orders have been issued preventing the organizing of LTTE commemoration events in Vavuniya and Mannar areas, Sri Lanka Police said.
The magistrate’s courts in Vavuniya and Mannar issued the injunction orders after considering a request made by the police, according to police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
Accordingly, the court orders have been issued on 05 individuals from Mannar and 08 from Vavuniya, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code while the respondents are expected to be served the injunctions.
The Police Spokesman said that if any individual attempts to hold LTTE commemoration events, a case will be filed against them for violating a court order.
