The Bangladesh Cricket Board has admitted the England tour later this year could be called off after a terrorist attack in Dhaka at the weekend.
England security adviser, Reg Dickason, is expected to visit Bangladesh this month and his report will decide if the tour in October-November goes ahead. England are due to play a Test and two one-day internationals in the capital city hit by an attack by Islamic militants on Saturday that left 20 dead at a cafe in the Gulshan district close to hotels used by touring teams.
Last year, Australia pulled out of a Test tour and the Under-19s World Cup in Bangladesh following advice from their government.
The England and Wales Cricket Board will take soundings from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office before making a decision and also speak to the players. So far, there have been no discussions over shifting the tour to another country. - newindianexpress
