
A stock of narcotic drugs mailed from overseas has been intercepted by Sri Lanka Customs at the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo.
Customs officials have seized 500 grams of ‘Kush’ cannabis and 80 grams of cocaine contained in 04 parcels.
Reportedly, the haul of drugs is worth over Rs 8 million.
The contraband has been sent from England, the United States of America (USA), and the Netherlands, said Customs Media Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne.
The drugs have been sent to addresses in Colombo, Nawala, Wadduwa, and Ahangama areas.
Jayaratne added that legal action will be taken against the persons involved in this racket by verifying the authenticity of the addresses.
