Play closed for lunch on day 02 of the 2nd test at 442/5 with India in sight of the 500 run mark despite losing centurions Rahane and Pujara.
A smart piece of bowling by Dimuth Karunaratne outdid in-form Cheteshwar Pujara on 133 giving the Lankan lions some momentum. Quick work by wicket keeper Niroshan Dickwella off a brilliant delivery by debutant Malinda Pushpakumara helped him bag the prized wicket of Ajinkye Rahane who was poised for a big score.
The dismissal Rahane on a 132 runs marked the maiden test wicket for young Malinda Pushpakumara.
Sri Lanka struck in quick succession briefly halting the Indian charge. All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin and WP Saha are currently at the crease and are well on track to achieving a total of more than 500 runs.
