The International Cricket Council has enforced a two-match ban on Sri Lanka’s ODI captain Upul Tharanga due to a slow over-rate during the 2nd ODI vs India played in Pallekele yesterday (24).
With 3 matches remaining Sri Lanka will be devastated to lose yet another senior player ahead of the testing Indian series. Tharanga was handed the ban as his team suffered yet another defeat at the hands of India after coming very close to toppling the Asian giants.
Questions will be raised now as to how Sri Lanka will fill the gaping hole left by the experienced batsman who will miss 2 of the 3 remaining matches.
