1st ODI: Pakistan asked to bat first

  Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga on Friday won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first in the first of the five-match ODI series at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

 

The ODI series will be a test for both the sides.

 

Sri Lanka are returning from a tour sweep against India but they downed Pakistan in the UAE in the two-match Test series to become the first team ever to beat the hosts in their home away from home.

 

Meanwhile, Sarfraz will have two challenges to look forward to.

 

To prove that Champions Trophy victory was not a fluke and they deserved to be the champions.

 

Also to avenge his team for the Test series loss.
