Three Members of Parliament from Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and Samagi Jaba Balawegaya (SJB) have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to reports, Matale District SLPP MP Rohana Dissanayake, Badulla District SLPP MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi and Hambantota District SJB MP Dilip Wedaarachchi have contracted the virus.

In a post published on his official Facebook page, the SJB parliamentarian said he was referred to a rapid antigen test due to a severe headache and was found to be positive for the virus.

Accordingly, MP Wedaarachchi and his family members are currently under quarantine.

In the meantime, SLPP MP Rohana Dissanayake said he had been self-isolating from August 02 after being identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 patient.

However, a PCR test conducted the following day has confirmed that MP Dissanayake has contracted COVID-19.

The two parliamentarians requested their close contacts to self-isolate.
