Lankans set Bangladesh formidable 222 run target

 A spirited performance by several Sri Lankan batsmen saw the visitors amass 221 runs at the final of the Tri-Nations series played in Dhaka today. 

 

Sri Lanka got off to an unfortunate start losing one of their openers for 8 runs. Kusal Mendis made a gutsy 28 runs in 9 balls to bring the lions back on track. 

 

Upul Tharanga and Niroshan Dikwella stabilized the innings with sizable knocks. Tharanga was left alone with wickets falling at regular intervals until he was finally dismissed for 56 runs. 

 

Bangladesh now requires 222 runs to win the Tri-nations series on home soil.
