Sri Lankan team to receive USD 100,000 for T20I series win over India

The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to award a cash prize of USD 100,000 for the national squad in recognition of the victory clinched at the T20I series against India.

 

In a statement issued today, the SLC said its executive committee lauds “the effort of the players, coaches, and the support staff for bringing this much-needed victory, which it believes will augur well for the National team going forward.”

 

“Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to congratulate the National Team for the excellence shown on the field during the T20i series played against India, thus winning the series 2 -1,” the statement read further.

 

Sri Lankan team beat India by 7 wickets on Thursday (July 29) in the third and final T20I played at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

 

It was Sri Lanka’s first series win in T20Is since October 2019.

 

Sri Lanka chased them down in the 15th over to win by 7 wickets and take the T20 series 2-1, having lost the ODIs 1-2.
