The Department for Registration of Persons has introduced a new procedure for issuing National Identity Cards (NIC) to individuals who do not have birth certificates.
Accordingly, the Commissioner General of the department stated that a circular including the instructions regarding the process has been sent to all the Divisional Secretaries and the Grama Niladhari Officers.
