Two inmates of the Galle Prison have been reported dead while five others have been hospitalised due to a still unidentified illness at the Galle Prison, the Prisons Spokesman said.
Furthermore, he mentioned that investigations are underway to identify the infection.
As a safety precaution, for now, face masks are being worn by all individuals inside the prison premises, he added.
