India defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in their fourth Group 2 match at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
After being asked to bat first at the Adelaide Oval, India scored 184/6, courtesy of half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Bangladesh had a good start with the bat, but the match was reduced to 16 overs following rain interruption.
It proved to be the turning point in the contest, as defending a revised target of 151 runs, the Indian bowlers looked in fine form as Bangladesh could only muster 145/6.
With this victory, India have claimed the top position in the Group 2 standings. While their qualification for the semi-finals is not mathematically official yet, they are all but through to the next round.
Bangladesh, however, are not out of the equation yet.
