A few showers are expected in Eastern, Central and Uva provinces, the Department of Meteorology says.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kurunegala District after 2.00 p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Sea areas:
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Colombo via Galle.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 25 - 35 kmph.
Wind speed may increase up to 45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Pottuvil to Matara via Hambantota.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Pottuvil to Matara via Hambantota can be fairly rough at times.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
