
Another gripping day of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier saw Sri Lanka advance in the tournament unbeaten after winning big against Scotland at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Sri Lanka managed to brush off Scotland in their Group B encounter with a crushing 82–run victory with a total of 245 runs as they were all out in 49.3 overs.
Opener Pathum Nissanka made 75 in 85 deliveries, while Charith Asalanka hit 63 in 65 deliveries towards Sri Lanka’s victory. Sadeera Samarawickrama 26, Dhananjaya de Silva 23, Maheesh Theekshana 16*.
Chris Greaves picked-up 04 wickets for Scotland, Mark Watt 03 wickets and Chris Sole bagged 02 wickets.
While chasing the 245 registered by Sri Lanka, Chris Greaves made 56*, and Christopher McBride added 29 runs to Scotland’s scoreboard.
Scotland could only register 163 runs as they were all out at the end of 29 overs.
Maheesh Theekshana picked-up 03 wickets, Wanindu Hasaranga 02, and Kasun Rajitha, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara and Dasun Shanaka made 01 in each towards Sri Lanka’s unbeaten advance in the tournament.
