Gang attacks funeral parlour employee with sharp weapon

A gang of five who stormed into Diyagama Co-operative Florist in Kahathuduwa has attacked one of its employees with a sharp weapon.
Police stated that the assailants had fled the scene following the attack.
The 24-year-old injured person has been admitted to Homagama Base Hospital for treatment.
The suspects, who forced their way into the funeral parlour, had attacked the employee, who sustained cut wounds to his chest, stomach and near the eyes, while he was arranging a coffin, the police said.
The motive behind the attack, however, was not immediately clear.
