The Department of Meteorology says mainly fair weather will prevail over the island today (Feb.10).

 

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

 

Sea areas:

 

Mainly fair weather will prevail in the sea areas around the island. Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph.

 

Wind speed may increase up to 55 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, And the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankesanturai via Puttalam.

 

The sea areas off the coasts from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and the sea areas off the coasts from Colombo to Kankesanturai via Puttalam, can be rough at times.
