
A doctor from the Gelioya area, in Kandy, has been arrested by the police for allegedly selling large stocks of controlled drugs.
It is alleged that the doctor operated multiple private medical practices in various areas and utilised them as fronts for the sale of these drugs.
According to police, the doctor had been arrested while selling a stock of controlled drugs worth Rs. 160,000.
The authorities further claim that the arrested doctor conducted these transactions by traveling in his vehicle during the night.
As such, both, the doctor and his vehicle are due to be produced before the Gampola Court today (14 Feb.).
