Two maintenance workers killed in accident on Southern Expressway

Two maintenance workers at the Southern Expressway were killed in an accident reported on the highway earlier today (27 Feb.)
Accordingly, two persons, aged 36 and 63, were reported dead after a lorry hit the protective fence near the Kurundugahahetekma interchange along the Southern Expressway a short while ago.
Police reported that the lorry had been plying from Dodangoda to Matara when the accident happened, adding that the two persons were immediately rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, however, were pronounced dead upon admission.
The remains of the deceased are currently at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, while further investigations are being carried out by the Poddala Police.
