SLC names men’s and women’s squads for 2023 Asian Games

The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Selection Committee has picked the men’s and women’s squads to take part in the Asian Games 2023.
 
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka men’s ‘A’ team will be led by Sahan Arachchige while skipper Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the women’s team.
 
Sri Lanka men’s ‘A’ squad:
 
Lasith Croospulle, Shevon Daniel, Ashen Bandara, Sahan Arachchige (C), Ashan Wickramasinghe, Lahiru Udara (WK), Ravindu Fernando, Ranitha Liyanarachchi, Nuwanindu Fernando, Sachitha Jayatilake, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Nimesh Vimukthi, Lahiru Samarakoon, Nuwan Thushara, Isitha Wijesundara
 
Sri Lanka women’s squad:
 
Chamari Athapatthu (C), Harshitha Samarawickrama, Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi de Silva, Kaveesha Dilhari, Imesha Dulani, Anushka Sanjeewani (WK), Oshadi Ranasinghe, Sugandika Kumari, Inoka Ranaweera, Udeshika Prabodhani, Hasini Perera, Kaushani Nuthyangana, Achini Kulasooriya, Inoshi Fernando
 
The 19th edition of the Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 08, 2023.
 
The event will feature both men’s and women’s T20 cricket tournaments, into which top-seeded teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh enters directly into the quarter-finals, while 11 other teams will compete in the group stage, and the winners will join the top four in the quarter-finals.
