Proposals to address uni. non-academic staff wage issues to be presented to Cabinet

Minister of Education, Susil Premajayantha says that the proposals concerning the monthly allowance and wage disparity faced by university non-academic staff since 2016 will be tabled at the upcoming Cabinet meeting on Monday.

 

Meanwhile, the ongoing strike initiated by university non-academic staff continues today for the 8th consecutive day.

 

K.L.D.G. Richmond, the co-secretary of the Inter-University Trade Union Federation, said that if their issues are not provided with permanent solutions by next Monday, they will resort to strict strike action by withdrawing from essential services.
