A person has reportedly died due to electrocution while engaged in preparations for a funeral in the Thihariya area in Nittambuwa.
This incident had occurred when the person in question and four others were working to install light bulbs to light up the road near a funeral house in the area.
During the police investigations, it has been revealed that they were electrocuted when the wire used to install the light bulbs had come into contact with a high-voltage power line on the road.
The deceased was a 40-year-old resident of Kalagedihena in Thihariya.
The other four persons who were also electrocuted in the incident are currently undergoing treatment at the Wathupitiwala Hospital.
Nittambuwa Police are conducting further investigations into the death.
