Australia win toss, opt to bowl first against Netherlands

Australia on Wednesday won the toss and opted to bat first against Netherlands in the ICC Cricket World Cup match at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi.

Australia are currently fourth in the table with two wins while Netherlands are at seventh position with a solitary win against South Africa.

After starting the tournament with back-to-back defeats, five-time world champions Australia have finally found the rhythm in the ongoing World Cup. They have won their previous two matches emphatically and will hope to carry forward the momentum when they meet Netherlands in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Netherlands, on the other hand, will eye for another upset, having already defeated in-form South Africa earlier in the tournament. However, apart from that Netherlands have not had a good run and they enter the contest on the back of a five-wicket loss against Sri Lanka.

If we compare both sides Australia are placed fourth and a win will help them remain constant at that position. Netherlands, on the other hand, are placed seventh and a win today will see them rub shoulders with Australia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, who have four points each.

The two sides have only squared up twice at the World Cup, with Australia claiming victories on both occasions.

Netherlands Squad: Vikramjit Singh, Max ODowd, Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, Scott Edwards(w/c), Sybrand Engelbrecht, Logan van Beek, Roelof van der Merwe, Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren, Saqib Zulfiqar, Ryan Klein, Shariz Ahmad, Wesley Barresi

Australia Squad: David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis(w), Marnus Labuschagne, Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Sean Abbott
