
The Department of Railways has announced the temporary closure of the Kota Road railway crossing from 9.30 a.m. today (06) until 7.30 a.m. tomorrow (07) to facilitate essential renovation work on the Cotta Road railway crossing, located between the Baseline and Narahenpita railway stations on the Kelani Valley railway line.
The department stated that the railway crossing will be completely closed to vehicular traffic during the period, while train services between Colombo Fort and Narahenpita railway stations will also be suspended.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made for three slow trains to commence their journey from the Narahenpita railway station and run to the Avissawella railway station this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Railway Department has also taken steps to temporarily close the railway crossing near the Horape railway station on the Main Line today and tomorrow to carry out essential renovation work.
