
The Sri Lankan rupee, which had been depreciating against the US dollar, strengthened once again today (10), according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
According to today's Central Bank Exchange Rates, the buying rate of the US dollar was recorded at Rs. 324.66, while the selling rate was Rs. 335.39.
Yesterday (09), the buying and selling rates were Rs. 332.38 and Rs. 342.08, respectively.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Central Bank announced that every exporter of goods who receives export proceeds in Sri Lanka during any calendar month must mandatorily convert the residual amount of such proceeds into Sri Lankan Rupees after utilizing them only in respect of the mentioned authorized payments on or before the 10th day of the following month.
The directive was mandated through a Gazette notification issued by the Governor of the CBSL, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.
