Springer comes in for the injured Holder; West Indies ask Sri Lanka to bat

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to take first strike in the second of three T20Is in Kingston.

West Indies had won the first match comfortably, by seven wickets, but have made one change to their XI for this game, bringing in seam bowler Shamar Springer for allrounder Jason Holder, who was Player of the Match in the first game but has reported a niggle.

Sri Lanka have made two changes to their XI. Batter Kamil Mishara came in for Lasith Croospulle in the top order. Lower down the order, spin-bowling allrounder Dunith Wellalage has replaced fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka.

While weather had been a concern ahead of the first T20I, it was clear in Kingston at match time for this game, and we should have a full game without interruptions.

Conducting the pitch report at Sabina Park prior to the toss, Carlos Brathwaite spotted a bare patch to one end, and expected the ball to turn big from there, but on the whole, he expected an even contest between bat and ball.

West Indies: 1 Shai Hope (capt, wk), 2 Brandon King, 3 Shimron Hetmyer, 4 Roston Chase, 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Rovman Powell, 7 Romario Shepherd, 8 Matthew Forde, 9 Akeal Hosein, 10 Shamar Joseph, 11 Shamar Springer

Sri Lanka: 1 Pathum Nissanka, 2 Kusal Mendis (capt, wk), 3 Kamil Mishara, 4 Pavan Rathnayake, 5 Kamindu Mendis, 6 Dasun Shanaka, 7 Wanindu Hasaranga, 8 Dunith Wellalage 9 Maheesh Theekshana, 10 Dushmantha Chameera, 11 Eshan Malinga
