
A three-wheeler travelling from Katunayake to Lindula in Talawakelle veered off the road and plunged down a 100-foot precipice, leaving the driver injured.
The accident occurred at around 4.00 p.m. yesterday (15) in the Carolina Estate area along the Hatton–Colombo main road.
The injured driver was admitted to the Watawala Divisional Hospital for treatment, said Ada Derana reporter.
According to preliminary investigations, the accident occurred after the driver reportedly fell asleep while driving, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge into the precipice.
The three-wheeler sustained extensive damage in the crash, said Ada Derana reporter.
