St. Bridget’s Convent celebrates 125 years with “Shamrock Trail” jubilee walk and carnival

As part of its 125th Jubilee celebrations, St. Bridget’s Convent will host “Shamrock Trail”, a Jubilee Walk and Carnival, on 4th July 2026, bringing together students, past pupils, parents, staff, well-wishers, and the wider community.

The Jubilee Walk, symbolizing a journey that honours the past, embraces the present, and looks to the future with faith, fellowship, and joy, will commence at 2:00 p.m. from the Collegiate School premises.

The route will proceed via Independence Avenue, Maitland Place, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, and Wijerama Mawatha, returning to the Primary School premises via R. G. Senanayake Mawatha (Gregory’s Road).

The celebrations will continue with a grand carnival at the Thurstan College Cricket Grounds from 6:00 p.m. onwards, featuring food stalls, games, family entertainment, and a variety of activities for all ages.

The evening will culminate in a live concert by Band Infinity, together with special guest artistes, promising an exciting and memorable experience for all attendees.

Proceeds from the event will support the continued growth and development of the school. St. Bridget’s Convent warmly invites all Bridgetines, well-wishers, and members of the public to join this historic celebration of 125 years of faith, excellence, service, and Bridgetine pride.
