Two women killed in two separate road accidents

Two women have died in separate motorcycle accidents reported in the areas of Poonewa and Pallewela.
Police stated that in the Poonewa area, a bus had struck a motorcycle from behind and the female motorcycle rider had sustained serious injuries and had succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a 56-year-old woman residing in the Poonewa area, police said.
Meanwhile, in a separate accident in Kaleliya, Pallewela, a container truck had collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of the pillion rider, police said.
The victim has been identified as a 33-year-old woman from the Kaleliya area, police stated.
The Police are conducting further investigations into both incidents.
