
A passenger has been arrested today (19) at the Alawwa Railway Station for allegedly causing damage to railway property following a delay in train operations.
The suspect was identified and taken into custody this evening while he was on a train scheduled to depart from Alawwa Railway Station.
On June 15, a train at Alawwa Railway Station had experienced a mechanical failure. As a result, a following train was used to push the disabled train forward, which led to delays in train services.
Passengers on both trains had reportedly confronted the station master and staff, expressing their dissatisfaction over the delays.
During the incident, the suspect had allegedly damaged railway property at the station.
Following a complaint lodged with the Alawwa Police by the station master, the suspect has been arrested.
