Applications are now being accepted for the General Information Technology (GIT) Examination 2026, the Department of Examinations has announced. The exam is scheduled to be held for Grade 12 students studying in government and private schools.

According to a statement issued by the Department, applications can be submitted online from June 22 until July 16, 2026.

The Department stated that all applications must be forwarded through school principals or heads of institutions. Principals of government and private schools have been instructed to access the Department’s official websites and follow the relevant guidelines before submitting applications through the online system.

The Department further emphasized that candidates are not permitted to submit applications individually.

Applications must be submitted using the usernames and passwords already provided to school authorities. A printed copy of the submitted application should be retained safely for future reference, the statement added.

Only students currently studying in Grade 12 in 2026 and expected to sit the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination for the first time in 2027 are eligible to apply for the GIT Examination. For private school candidates, examination fees must be paid after student details have been entered into the relevant information database.

The Department also noted that no additional students can be registered once the payment process has been completed.

For further information, applicants may contact the Department of Examinations through the 1911 hotline or via 011 2784537, 011 2786616, and 011 2784208.
