The Kilinochchi Police have taken into custody 30 motorcycles and 20 tipper trucks for violating traffic regulations and engaging in reckless driving during a special enforcement operation.
The operation was conducted by the Traffic Division of the Kilinochchi Police yesterday (27) and today (28) as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
The vehicles were seized for multiple offences, including the failure to produce valid vehicle documentation, operating with expired licences, driving without number plates and reckless driving.
Police stated that similar enforcement operations will continue in the coming days to identify and take legal action against motorists who violate traffic laws and cause inconvenience to the general public.
Further investigations into the seized vehicles are currently underway.
