A total of 12,883 Poson dansals were inspected across Sri Lanka by the end of Poson Poya day today (29), as part of the island-wide safety and health monitoring operations, authorities state.
According to officials, permission was granted for 146 dansals to resume operations after required corrections were made, following the identification of various shortcomings during inspections.
Meanwhile, six dansals were ordered to be closed after being found non-compliant with required standards. Authorities said all six were soft drink dansals that had been set up without meeting proper safety and hygiene requirements.
Inspections were conducted island-wide to ensure food safety standards and public health compliance during the Poson Poya festival period.
