The annual bus fare revision should come into effect from tomorrow (01), according to the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA).
Association Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne stated that the National Transport Commission (NTC) has already been informed of the fare adjustment required under the annual bus fare revision policy.
However, he alleged that the NTC has not held any discussions with private bus associations regarding the revision.
Wijeratne further warned that if the expected fare revision is not implemented, the association will seek legal action.
In response to an inquiry by Ada Derana, an NTC spokesperson said that the proposal for the annual bus fare revision has already been submitted to the Cabinet.
The spokesperson added that the revised bus fares will be implemented once Cabinet approval is granted.
