The deadline for submitting Asset and Liability Declarations is set to end today (30), according to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
Officials who had not yet submitted their declarations are required to do so by the end of today.
Under the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023, all public officials required to declare their assets and liabilities must submit their declarations online.
CIABOC Director General Ranga Dissanayake stated that individuals who fail to submit their declarations after today's deadline would be subject to penalties.
However, the Commission reported that its website has experienced technical disruptions due to a large number of users attempting to submit their declarations simultaneously.
In view of the technical issues, CIABOC has decided to grant a one-week grace period for those who are unable to complete their submissions today.
Accordingly, affected individuals will be allowed to submit their Asset and Liability Declarations until 12:00 midnight on July 7, the Commission said.
