
His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith participated in the second Extraordinary Consistory convened by Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on June 26 and 27.
The Extraordinary Consistory, a consultative meeting convened by the Pope, commenced with a Papal Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica before the College of Cardinals gathered with the Holy Father at the Paul VI Hall.
During four working sessions, the cardinals discussed the current state of the Catholic Church and the world, efforts to promote peace, the implementation of the Synod, and the papal encyclical“Magnifica Humanitas”.
Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith shared his extensive pastoral experience on the matters under discussion during the deliberations with the Pope and fellow cardinals.
A total of 178 cardinals from around the world took part in the Extraordinary Consistory, which concluded with the Papal Mass celebrating the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29.
