
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Dr. J.G.L. Sulakshana Jayawardena as the new Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI).
The letter of appointment was presented to Dr. Jayawardena by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (1 July), according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
Dr. Jayawardena also serves as Director General (Corporate Affairs) at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
A veteran of the Sri Lankan Administrative Service (SLAS) with over 23 years of distinguished experience, Dr. Jayawardena had previously served as Acting Chairman of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka.
He is widely recognized for his transformative work in the power and energy sector, where he has spent over two decades spearheading critical initiatives. His career is marked by significant contributions to Renewable Energy Development, driving the transition toward sustainable power sources and implementing national improvements in energy conservation.
