Malabe Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the brutal assault of a youth near a Rice Dansala held in Malabe on Poson Poya Day (29).
According to the police, the arrests were made following prompt investigations launched after a complaint was lodged yesterday (30), based on a video of the incident that was widely circulated on social media.

The five suspects were produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (01), police said.
