Online applications for 2026 O/L Exam to be accepted until July 23

The Department of Examinations has announced that online applications for the 2026 General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) Ordinary Level Examination commenced yesterday (03) and will be accepted until July 23, 2026.

 

According to the Department, all school candidates must submit their applications online through the principals of their respective schools, while private candidates are required to submit their applications individually in accordance with the prescribed instructions.

 

Private candidates must use their National Identity Card (NIC) when applying. Those who do not possess an NIC may register and submit their applications using the NIC of a parent or guardian, it said.

 

Candidates are required to access the official websites of the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka, at www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic, carefully read the relevant instructions, and submit their applications accurately, it said.

 

Applicants are also advised to obtain and retain a printed copy of the submitted application for future reference. The Department noted that the usernames and passwords required for school candidates have already been issued to school principals.

 

The Department further stated that applications will not be accepted after 12.00 midnight on July 23, 2026, and emphasized that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.
