Fire breaks out in protected reserve near Ella
A fire has broken out in a protected reserve near the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery, Kumbalwela in the Ella Police Division, last night (04).
The blaze was brought under control through a joint effort by firefighters, police officers, tri-service personnel, officers of the Forest Conservation Department, and local residents.
Authorities confirmed that no loss of life or damage to property was reported as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the Ella Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
