
The public has been urged to contact the Dengue Relief Centre if they identify any mosquito breeding places in their local areas, the Additional Secretary, ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme’ said.

A discussion on the special dengue control programme jointly implemented under the guidance of the Presidential Secretariat was held today (05), chaired by the Secretary to the President.
The programme is being coordinated by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defence, the Tri-Forces, the Sri Lanka Police, and the Ministry of Mass Media to curb the ongoing dengue outbreak.
The meeting focused on reviewing the measures already taken to control the spread of dengue and the actions planned for the coming weeks.
Among those present were Dr. Asanka Wedamulla, Coordinator of the National Health Emergency Operations Centre, the Acting Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, officials from the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, and representatives of the Tri-Forces and Police.
Accordingly, the special dengue control operation commenced today, covering 23 high-risk dengue zones across the Western Province.
In the Colombo District, operations will be carried out in Maharagama, Kaduwela, Homagama, Gothatuwa, Battaramulla, Piliyandala, and within the Colombo Municipal Council area.
In the Gampaha District, the programme will cover Biyagama, Kelaniya, Seeduwa, Ja-Ela, Mahara, Wattala, Negombo, and Minuwangoda.
Meanwhile, in the Kalutara District, special dengue control activities will be conducted in Panadura, Bandaragama, Horana, Ingiriya, and Kalutara.
The operation is being coordinated by the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme’ on behalf of the Presidential Secretariat.
