The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on today (08) issued a reminder to the Government Analyst to submit a forensic report on unidentified substances recovered from the scene where former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena was found dead.

The investigation into the incident was taken up today before Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena, said Ada Derana reporter.

During the proceedings, officers of the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) informed the court that several unidentified medicines found at the location where the deceased was found had been forwarded to the Government Analyst, but the relevant analytical reports have not yet been received.

Police further informed the court that the post-mortem examination report of the deceased has also not been received to date.

Having considered the submissions, Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered the issuance of a reminder to the Department of the Government Analyst, directing it to take necessary steps to submit the analytical reports on the relevant substances and medicines.

The Magistrate also ordered the issuance of a reminder to the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer’s (JMO) Office, requesting the submission of the post-mortem examination report.

Court subsequently ordered that the case be recalled on July 22 to review the progress of the investigations.
