
Former private secretary to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sugeeshwara Bandara, who was arrested over allegations that he had received two salaries from two government institutions has been further remanded.
During today’s hearing, the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court also rejected the bail application filed on behalf of Sugeeshwara Bandara.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena rejected the bail application, stating that no exceptional circumstances had been presented to justify granting bail to the suspect, said Ada Derana reporter.
Accordingly, the Magistrate ordered that Sugeeshwara Bandara be further remanded in custody until July 22.
Sugeeshwara Bandara was arrested on June 18 and was subsequently remanded over allegations that he had received two salaries from two government institutions.
