Opposition MPs sign no-confidence motion against Justice Minister

The parliamentary opposition group has decided to submit a no-confidence motion against Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.

 

The opposition members alleges that the Justice Minister failed to fulfill his responsibilities and ensure accountability regarding the deaths of prison officers and inmates during the unrest at the Negombo Prison.

 

Accordingly, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, along with other opposition Members of Parliament, including ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ leader MP Dilith Jayaweera, signed the no-confidence motion in Parliament today (10).
