SLTB launches special bus services for Kataragama festival

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has launched special bus services to Kataragama to facilitate devotees travelling for the annual festival of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya.

 

The special bus service will operate from Colombo to Kataragama, as well as from the Eastern Province and the upcountry regions to Kataragama.

 

Passengers can reserve seats through the official SLTB website. In addition, two ticket reservation counters have been set up at the Kataragama Bus Stand for the convenience of travellers.

 

The special service is intended for devotees arriving in Kataragama on the traditional “Pada Yatra” pilgrimage from the Eastern and upcountry regions, as well as those travelling by regular means from areas including Colombo and Kandy.

 

Accordingly, special buses will operate from Kataragama to Batticaloa, Panama, Trincomalee, Mutur, Valaichchenai, Pottuvil, Akkaraipattu, Vakarai and Kalmunai. 

 

Special services have also been arranged from Kataragama to Colombo, Kandy, Hatton, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya and several other destinations.
