
Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekera has stated that national security has been safeguarded at the highest level since the incumbent government assumed office.
The Deputy Minister made these remarks while responding to questions from journalists following an event held in Nawalapitiya today (11).
He emphasized that although certain public security concerns had arisen due to prevailing circumstances, those issues have since been addressed.
The Deputy Minister further stated that he and his team are implementing all constructive initiatives in accordance with the Constitution and established principles.
Aruna Jayasekera also alleged that the opposition continues to criticize the positive measures taken by the National People’s Power (NPP) government on a daily basis.
He further stated that the National People’s Power media spokesperson will provide clarification in the coming days regarding matters including the appointment of the Commissioner General of Prisons and the proposed re-establishment of the Bogambara Prison.
