Two suspects have been arrested in separate operations carried out by the Police in Peradeniya and Colombo, resulting in the seizure of heroin and Crystal methamphetamine ('Ice').

 

Officers attached to the Peradeniya Police Station has arrested a 28-year-old resident of Peradeniya yesterday (12), after intercepting a motorcycle near Peradeniya town based on a tip-off.

 

Police had recovered 400 grams of Crystal methamphetamine ('Ice') and 150 grams of heroin from the suspect, along with the motorcycle allegedly used to transport the drugs.

 

Meanwhile, officers from the Coastal Police Station had conducted a raid at Hinniappuhamy Mawatha in the Coastal Police Division yesterday, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old resident of Colombo 13.

 

During the operation, Police had seized 119 grams and 680 milligrams of heroin from the suspect’s possession.

 

Further investigations into both incidents are being carried out by the Peradeniya Police and the Coastal Police, respectively.
